I have to tell you about the Hockey Jersey. It is a branded product. People who wear it reflect their loyalty and likes. They are a walking billboard. They reflect that they are part of a community, are more approachable, and arguably would need to have a strong reason to change their opinion. They wear their loyalty with pride and are glad to be part of their special tribe.

Despite the drama of live sports, your community is more important than a hockey team or game. The sports team guys have mastered the visible impression. They use marketing, and are repetitive. How to be repetitive? They offer something that will be seen by their audience every day.
If you were a "marketing master", you know to engage your audience touch points every day. You want to encourage them whenever possible to reflect their pride and membership in your association. You’d have your association’s name, at work, on your Main Street and wherever your members are.
