In the promotional products business there are so many products to consider that when people ask me what I products I carry and I’m occasionally at a loss as to what to tell them.  

How about ‘stuff’ because that’s what it is if it is not part of a strategy to engage an audience.  

If I’m asked what to sell for a conference there are of course the utilitarian things like tote bags for trade shows (people need something to carry materials exhibitors will give), or note books for education sessions.  In fact, exhibitors giving something besides a pile of reading material is perhaps more important now then ever.  The reason being you want the client to remember you and a product that sticks around will keep your organization top of mind. If you’ve got a product that will stay in front of your client to remind them of you and your organization, then there’s a better chance you’ll be remembered. Add a prompt to go to your web site and the value of that trade-show/conference product is well worth the investment.  

For example, at my last trade show I gave a pen with 5 different functions- a pen, highlighter, phone stand, screen cleaner, and stylus. On top of that I told prospects they could talk to the pen as well…  it would be weird but they could do it.;)  The pen was presented on a card that was well designed with the objective of reminding the recipient to go to our web site.  Yes, we have a couple of product search engines but the reality is we explain that the real value of promotional products will come from sharing your goals and objectives for engaging prospects at your event.  By using Brougham’s years of experience to find engaging, innovative ideas, your branded products are likely to be more effective and the task of getting them will be simplified and worry free!  

Here’s a tip for organizations that have education departments. One of the best ideas I’ve seen was an education department giving USB drives at their booth.  They would talk to their prospect and offer the first class for free.  Then they’d load the drive or use one already loaded, give the drive to the prospect with the free class.  Also with the class everything needed to take the next steps complete with links to more classes and easy payment options.  A carrot and an easy path for more.  Now that was clever.
